Entries for some blog events......Mango banana smoothie ,Taro root ava curry and something sweet

MANGO-BANANA SMOOTHIE:



This is my entry for AFAM -Mango hosted by Deepa.

ingredients:
Mango.......1/2 of a medium one

Banana....1
Lime juice.....1 tbsp

Honey............few drops
Sugar.........2 tbsp
Ice cubes.......4-5


METHOD:

  • Peel the mango and banana.Make small pieces.
  • Grind with all other ingredients .If needed add ice water.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve wioth few drops of honey and ice cubes.
TARO ROOT AVA CURRY:

This is my entry for RCI- Andhra Cuisine hosted by Latha of masala magic.



INGREDIENTS:
taro root..........5-6
salt.......as required
Turmeric.......a pinch
Tamarind juice....2 tbsp



AAVA:
Mustard seeds......1 tbsp

Sesame seeds.........1 tbsp
Hing..........a small block
Red chilly........3-4

Grind all these to a smooth paste.

For tampering:

Urad dal.....1 tsp
Chana dal....1 tsp
mustard seeds...1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds......1/2 tsp

Curry leaves......1 stalk
Red chilly............2



METHOD:
  • Boil the taro root and peel them.
  • In a wide pan add 1 tbsp of oil and add the tampering.
  • When the tampering is done well add the taro root pieces.
  • Fry for some time and add salt.
  • Add the ground ava and tamarind juice.Cover and cook until the tamarind juice gets avaporated and the taro root gets the taste of ava and tamarind.
  • Serve with rice...

Now something sweet for Coffee....'s MBP.

Hi Swapna,that mango smoothie looks yummm!and the carrot halwa too.and what can I say of the chama dumpa ava curry!ava curries are my all time favs.BTW,I made ariti davva ava curry yesterday and only toda drafted it.I am going to put it on tomorrow:)

Nice 3 in 1 post.. I used to make dry roast with colocasia , but this curry is new to me. mango banana smoothie and carrot halwa looks good too.
