Ven Pongal


This is my entry for RCI by Lakshmik at VEggie cuisine.









Ingredinets:

Rice...........1 cup
Moong dal....1 cup
Green chilly........3
Ginger....................small root
Cashew nuts............hand full
Black pepper...........1 tbsp
Curry leaves.........1 stalk
Ghee......................4 tbsp
Salt.........................as required

METHOD:

  • Cook the rice and moong dal with 6 cups of water.
  • In a pan heat ghee and add the peeper.When they crackle add green chilly and ginger.
  • Add cashew nuts and curry leaves.
    • Mix with cooked rice and moong dal.Add required salt..

Serve hot with a tsp of ghee....

nice and easy :) i tried ur sweet pumpkin recipe..it was nice..i like the taste of ginger in it :)...i make it in a similar fashion but without the ginger and with a little sugar ..

Nice and authenic entry dear.Hey one small suggestion,i couldn't point out exactly the reason, but recently past 2 post your snap few parts are covered with dullness...Are you taking snap very close when it is very hot?

What a coincidence. I made pongal too yesterday but i use 4:1 proportions of dal and rice and fry dal and rice before cooking. Your version looks good too. Nice entry girl.
