Green peas With Capsicum

This is my entry for Nupur's "A to Z of Indian Vegetables" weekly event.



INGREDIENTS:
Green peas.......1 cup
Capsicum..........1 big
Tomato..............1
Salt....................as required
Red chilly powder....As required
Coriander leaves.....for garnishing

Masala.
Onion.....1
ginger...a small block
Garlic....2 flakes
Cumin seeds....1 tsp
Star anise.....1/2 flower
Cloves........2
Cinnamon......1 small stick
Coriander seeds...1 tsp
Shahjeera........1/4 th tsp

Grind all the above to a smooth paste.

METHOD:

  • Boil the green peas.
  • Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a pan .Add the ground paste.Fry until the oil comes out.
  • Now add chopped tomato.Cover and cook until the tomato become soft.
  • Add salt and chilly powder according ur taste.
  • Add the chopped capsicum.Cook for 5 min and add the green peas.
  • Cover and cook until well cooked.Add water if needed.
  • Serve with chapathi or rice..
NOTE:U can add the chopped onion in the curry instead of adding it to the masala.

u have been quite busy with cooking i guess:) i loved chinese spinach recipe and this capsicum with peas subji. i bet they must have tasted good also. do u have little more left for me?:) just kidding:)

BTW I think the music which i hear in ur blog is a tamil song .. couldn't remember which film or what song .. but it is nice.
